This one is pretty easy to mitigate by simply eating a lot of food once you are playing the game. -1 Fitness. To achieve this, you will need to balance out positive traits with negative ones. If you gain enough weight, you won't be "underweight" anymore ; if you lvl up your strenght skill enough, you'll go from "weak" to "feeble", or from "feeble" to nothing (5 fitness) and so on. Considering how valuable points are this is a massive waste. Take with outdoorsman to negate most of the negative effects and gain 2 free points. 2- Not directly harmful, but either a bit too expensive or too situational to be worth using. Feeble and Weak: 3/5 strength is much easier to level than Fitness, and is also less important. The extra speed will often cause you to crash and badly injure yourself, even with cruise control. Now, SP and MP differ slightly because of no time forward. Description: Panic when performing first aid on self, cannot perform first aid on others, gets stressed when bloody. The critical chance of attacks is capped between 10% and 90%. Check near gas stations and inside residential homes and youre bound to come across some cigarettes to sate those smoker cravings. Interesting challenge to play with but its not worth it for regular players, even for 12 extra points. You will wake up close to tired. Eventually Claustrophobic will wear off in Project Zomboid as well. Because of this, it's an easy +4 points that can be used to get an extra positive trait. If that doesn't work then post the question. Along the same lines as thin-skinned Hemophobic is another great trait for those that are pretty good at avoiding combat. Smoker means that the longer your character goes without smoking the more gradually unhappy they will get. 2 High Thirst. Many months ago I did a list on my top 10 best traits in Project Zomboid. This will keep your high tier weapons usable for longer. Not worth it, dexterous is too useful, and the 400% transfer rate is insane. Yes. First aid is not. Impacts combat a lot less than you'd think, especially since your character panics no matter what when they see a horde early-game. This will only really become a problem if you are playing in a multiplayer server. Thanks for posting your list! Organized: 3/5 if not 4/5. Generally high-fat foods are going to be easy to find. Costs - 2 points (reduces points) Effect - Increases reading speed by 130%. Fit/Stout are a waste of points because the huge bonuses trigger at 9+ so you're paying 6 pts for very marginal benefits and to top it all off 7 strength is actually possible to grind out via exercise without hating yourself, especially if you already start with 5 base. Description: Increases the chance of scratches, lacerations or bites breaking the skin. I play with darker nights so Cat Eyes is one that I always take. Foraging is useful. One of the best traits frequently recommended by the Project Zomboid community is Short-Sighted. Avoid. Ive told my friends who are new to the game to take thick-skinned to start off with until theyre more comfortable to take the training wheels off. There really isnt a best build for the game. The effects of this trait will eventually get better and better as you play through the game. Only worth taking if you have slow modded vehicles. I'd put Speed Demon at 2. Speaking of underweight as a negative trait.. I'll start with the ones I've been able to determine: Feeble Obese Out of Shape Overweight Poor eyesight . Your character has a perception radius even behind them, supposed to represent hearing. Project. You can simply plant a couple more crops to get the same effect. All rights reserved. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Will the withdraw symptoms cease after awhile? First aid is useless. How good this is, is up to you. The best traits in Project Zomboid are Short Sighted, High Thirst and Weak Stomach, they are examples of traits that cause little to no inconvenience and or are easy to fix. However, there are a ton ofboth positive and negative traits to choose from. Gardener: 1/5. Cigarettes are easy to find, and i think smoking every so often adds a neat little bit of immersion. 25% slower xp gain with weapons. Iron Gut: Easy 1/5. You gain a form of 'Brave' after surviving long enough. I can recommend using agorophobic and Adreneline junkie so you run much faster while outside at the trade for being panicked. The character will not spawn until "Points to Spend" is higher than a negative number or equal to zero. This perk isnt working at all as of the time im writing this, so its free points. Now I just avoid the weight traits to get athletic; but for combat characters I'm going fire officer all the way now. There's also an unlisted benefit that's hard to quantify but lets you literally hear zombies from behind you as if they were in front of you. Allows you to keep a regular schedule, stay out of the dark, and excercise/forage/run/fight more before getting sleepy. The XP boost to nimble is great, as it levels extremely slowly on its own. Reduces risk of getting a cold by 90%! Again you probably don't know how detection works in the game. Though all of them are useful in their own ways, the following traits are the best to pick up. This also applies to backpack storage but is still a convenience perk. There is a great video out there about it and TLDW, its only use is if you pass a window the zombie has a slightly less chance of seeing you, but if u r in the open, forget it. Cannot take Wakeful, and also has the opposite effect of Wakeful. Cooking is so useless taking this for -6 will hurt your character. You could start at 0 or 3 and level up to 4 or 6. Traits are divided up into positive traits that cost points to have, and negative traits that give you points to spend. Claustrophobia on a no sleep MP server is just free points. ._1QwShihKKlyRXyQSlqYaWW{height:16px;width:16px;vertical-align:bottom}._2X6EB3ZhEeXCh1eIVA64XM{margin-left:3px}._1jNPl3YUk6zbpLWdjaJT1r{font-size:12px;font-weight:500;line-height:16px;border-radius:2px;display:inline-block;margin-right:5px;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis;vertical-align:text-bottom;white-space:pre;word-break:normal;padding:0 4px}._1jNPl3YUk6zbpLWdjaJT1r._39BEcWjOlYi1QGcJil6-yl{padding:0}._2hSecp_zkPm_s5ddV2htoj{font-size:12px;font-weight:500;line-height:16px;border-radius:2px;display:inline-block;margin-right:5px;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis;vertical-align:text-bottom;white-space:pre;word-break:normal;margin-left:0;padding:0 4px}._2hSecp_zkPm_s5ddV2htoj._39BEcWjOlYi1QGcJil6-yl{padding:0}._1wzhGvvafQFOWAyA157okr{font-size:12px;font-weight:500;line-height:16px;border-radius:2px;margin-right:5px;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis;vertical-align:text-bottom;white-space:pre;word-break:normal;box-sizing:border-box;line-height:14px;padding:0 4px}._3BPVpMSn5b1vb1yTQuqCRH,._1wzhGvvafQFOWAyA157okr{display:inline-block;height:16px}._3BPVpMSn5b1vb1yTQuqCRH{background-color:var(--newRedditTheme-body);border-radius:50%;margin-left:5px;text-align:center;width:16px}._2cvySYWkqJfynvXFOpNc5L{height:10px;width:10px}.aJrgrewN9C8x1Fusdx4hh{padding:2px 8px}._1wj6zoMi6hRP5YhJ8nXWXE{font-size:14px;padding:7px 12px}._2VqfzH0dZ9dIl3XWNxs42y{border-radius:20px}._2VqfzH0dZ9dIl3XWNxs42y:hover{opacity:.85}._2VqfzH0dZ9dIl3XWNxs42y:active{transform:scale(.95)} Of course things like cats eyes will be more useful when the world is set to pitch black nights, and other perks have specific uses to peoples playstyles so you may find them occasionally more useful than I may have rated them. For many task that involves you being out in the open near obstructed sight lines (Foraging, Looting zombies, Fishing, Farming, fixing/fueling vehicles, etc), the extra warning in many cases is the difference between life or death. Short Sighted only affects foraging radius and makes no difference to actual perception sight. As far as I know it's not like 10-100 times per second or anything like that. Nimble along with weapon proficiency and fitness is the key to taking on sizable groups effectively. Unfortunately most of the traits are broken, some not really working at all or doing things completely different than they say in the descriptions. Keen Hearing: 3/5 simply because it's very useful and pretty much guarantees you'll never be caught offguard by a zombie behind you (at least as long as you're not fast-forward, but even then I think it auto-slows-down). High Thirst Points: +6 Effect: 200 percent increased thirst. Gymnast 4/5. Funnily enough this is the one negative trait that actually includes a little positive effect as well. Feeble, weak - by training strength. if(typeof ez_ad_units!='undefined'){ez_ad_units.push([[336,280],'setreadygame_com-leader-1','ezslot_15',114,'0','0'])};__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-setreadygame_com-leader-1-0'); Along with this you have the option to pick up the positive trait known as Brave. The name of the game is avoid being attacked at all costs since any damage from a zombie can be a death sentence. It's an absolutely amazing trait. While water will shut off during the first month of the game, it's easy to find . Same thing with under/overweight. Long-term, these traits can be great for getting some of the good traits. Leave a comment below and once youre done with this list you can also check out another post I did on the top 10 best traits to take in Project Zomboid. If you want to fish to survive this is a must have for the 75% XP boost, if not don't take the perk lol. Consider stout and fit if you don't have the points. But let me convince you why pacifist is a good choice. Significantly defeats the purpose of using vehicles. First Aid is such a brokenly bad skill it shouldn't even be in the game currently. Being even drowsy drastically reduces your melee damage output.
